Reputational damage and cyber risk go hand in hand. Both are considered as some of the main risks for UK businesses; cyber attacks and data breaches have been the cause of many reputational crisis in the past years but, what is the extent of the brand damage after a breach? The change in public perception, loss of trust and decline of share price, are some examples. A CGI-Oxford Economics study found that a serious cyber security incident could cause an average permanent decline of 1.8% in a company’s share price, which for a typical FTSE 100 firm equates to a permanent loss of market capitalisation of £120 million.

Considering the current social awakening around privacy abuses, this issue is increasingly winning stakeholders’ attention and impacting brand’s reputation as well. What conversations should take place in the boardroom about privacy? Are Privacy programs being implemented from the top?

In this webinar, we will discuss the business impacts of cyber-attacks, data breaches and privacy abuses, and how they affect a brand’s reputation. We will discuss some well-known cases where a data breach or certain privacy practices have affected brand reputation dramatically.

On March 8th, 1600 Cyber, 1600 Avenue and Priv, will celebrate International Women’s Day, bringing together thought leaders, influencers, survivors, and activists to discuss, encourage and empower women worldwide.

In the spirit of this day, we will “choose to challenge” through several conversations surrounding a Womxn’s digital empowerment, online protections, privacy violations, cyber violence, and digital justice. Underpinning all of this, we are calling out to all Womxn to learn more about how to start designing the tech that we use, and need!

Cyber risk has ranked as the top business risk for the first time ever (Allianz Risk Barometer 2020) but, is it considered a priority at board level? Cyber Security has proved to be not just an IT matter but a crucial risk management issue to be considered at strategic level, bringing financial and operational benefits, among others.

Are companies setting the tone from the top in this matter? How can Cyber make it to the top of the board agenda? How can they find NEDs with a background in Cyber?

Phishing in times of COVID-19

Workshop

On top of the challenges this Pandemic has brought, organizations, citizens and governments have to worry about the constant attempts cybercriminals are doing to benefit from this crisis, as they usually do by taking advantage of uncertainty and global vulnerabilities (elections, natural disasters, humanitarian crisis, etc.)

These coronavirus-related scams are targeting people’s fear during these uncertain times; phishing is not the only vehicle, but it’s the most common.
